Vacancy Grower - Facility Manager in Rio Negro
Floritec develops leading varieties of Chrysanthemum, Celosia and Aster and produces and supplies cuttings for production worldwide. Working closely with our customers we respond to local growing and climat conditions, creating locally adapted varieties: Customized Breeding.
After opening a new breeding site in The Netherlands in 2023, we are now also expanding in Colombia. A second location for breeding and product supply will be opened in the Antioquia region in the second half of 2024. Our ambition? To be a leader in the world of Chrysanthemums.

Grower - Facility Manager

Your role is:
As Grower - Facility Manager, you will be one of the driving forces behind our Rio Negro site in Colombia. You will lead the cultivation of plant material for breeding and trialing and for the supply chain. You will contribute to the optimal functioning of the site and the efficient organization of operations, commercialization and supply chain. As facility manager, you will not only take responsibility for the site but you will also enjoy being actively involved in the development of the entire organization onsite.
Your tasks include:
• Growing and production of all plant material for breeding, maintenance, trialing, events and supply chain.
• Organization, management and planning of and for the location in cooperation with breeding, product management, sales and marketing and supply chain.
• Pest and disease management.
• Organization, management and monitoring of the annual budget and investment planning for the site.
What we ask:
• Appropriate Education in horticulture or agriculture.
• Several years of experience in growing and supply chain of horticultural crops, in particular Chrysanthemum, is preferred, with a proven track record of growing, management and organization.
• Entrepreneurship, flexibility, organizational skills, team spirit and passion for plants.
• Capable of managing relevant software for management, organization and administration.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish and English.
More about this opportunity:
The new location is currently under construction and expected to open in November of this year. You will start now, within a small group that is preparing the setup of the organisation of the new site and the transition of our current activities to the site. This leadership group will build the entire Colombia team without hesitation, to grasp the momentum and be ready to kick off strongly at opening.
